WHOIS Task Force invokes the Ombudsman

One of the GNSO's WHOIS Task Forces is now invoking the ICANN ombudsman, to be able to move on with its work. In December 04, ICANN staff had effectively vetoed one of the policy recommendations the group had made. Since then, the group has not succeeded in even getting an appointment for a conversation with ICANN staff.

I wonder if you read the Article 29 Data Protection Working Party document released on January 18, 2005 and relevant to the Whois matters http://europa.eu.int/comm/internal_market/privacy/docs/wpdocs/2005/wp104_en.pdf Actually there is an on line consultation underway (deadline is end of March), cf. http://europa.eu.int/comm/internal_market/privacy/workingroup/consultations/consultation_en.htm
